C-Suite Wednesday — House Small Biz Committee Supports SBA 7(a) Funding Levels of $28.5 Billion in FY 2018

The House Small Business Committee released a report this morning that sets its priorities for FY 2018.

$28.5 billion lending level for SBA 7(a)
$7.5 billion lending level for SBA 504
Elimination of SBA 504 debt refi
Questioning the need of the 10 regional administrators and their staff
Recommend a 10% reduction in Administrator’s personnel staff expenses

“Over the past several years, this Committee has identified numerous issues that have prevented the SBA from playing its vital role in helping small businesses grow our economy,” says Chairman Chabot. “I am confident that the overwhelming, bipartisan consensus of the Small Business Committee on these priorities, along the new leadership at the Small Business Administration and at the White House, America’s 28 million small businesses will soon see their government step out of their way and allow them to do what they do best: create good jobs.”
