C-Suite Wednesday — SBA 7(a) Premium Distribution for 2017

At yesterday’s 10th Annual SBA Secondary Market Summit, SBA Secondary Market Chief John Wade presented these excellent charts of premiums realized by lenders for SBA 7(a) loans sold to the secondary market in FY17.

The Matrix Heat Map shows 50% of SBA 7(a) loan sales received premiums in the 109 to 114 range.

Drilling down further, 17% of SBA 7(a) loans less than $500,000 were sold for premiums between 113 and 114. Only .5% of SBA 7(a) loan sales exceeded the 118 threshold.

One chart is by dollar amount, and the other one is by number of loans.

These are invaluable charts to help you budget your 2018 fee income.
