Know where the saying “plum job” comes from? It’s from the color of book published every four years listing all of the jobs a new presidential administration must fill to run the government.

Now, while the SBA Administrator slot is filled at $211,296 — SBA has 106 cool jobs you may be interested in if you are looking for a career change.

The ten SBA Regional Administrators come in at the highest government salary grade (GS-15). That’s around $181,114 a year if you are Region IX’s top dog out of San Francisco.

Some of the jobs Linda McMahon needs to fill:

Deputy Administrator
Chief of Staff
Counselor to the Administrator
Senior Advisor to the Administrator
Chief Risk Officer
Senior Advisor to the Deputy Administrator
Idea Lab Director
Director of Advance and Operations
Special Assistant to the Administrator
Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff
Chief Counsel for Advocacy

Pay will be about $160,300.

Of course of most interest to SBA lenders is who will fill the Office of Capital Access executive positions. Under the executive service pay plan the positions max out of $185,100.
