SBAHeadquartersThere’s less money than in 2014, but that is okay says NADCO’s Beth Solomon. The reason? A “vastly improved” SBA loan portfolio translates to lower taxpayer funded loan subsidy costs.

The fiscal year 2015 calls for $47.5 million in subsidies, almost half less than this year’s $107 million.

SBA 504 clocks in with $7.5 billion and 7(a) will have a limit of $17.5 billion , although many (see today’s American Banker article) are calling for a $19 billion limit for 7(a) next year.

The total budget request is $710 million, continuing a disturbing trend of being one of a handful of federal agencies to repeatedly come under the paring knife.
