Avoid Unforced Errors: Top 20 Reasons SBA Denies or Repairs the 7(a) Guaranty — Thurs, Aug 27
How to Strengthen the Loan File Before SBA Reviews the Guaranty Purchase
Coleman Professional Webinar Training
Date: Thursday, August 27
Time: 2:00 p.m. Eastern
Recording and e-certification provided

During the past year, Lance Sexton has worked with SBA lenders reviewing loan files, servicing actions, liquidation decisions, and guaranty purchase packages. From those reviews, he has identified the 20 recurring eligibility, underwriting, closing, and servicing issues that most often lead SBA to repair or deny the 7(a) guaranty.
Participants will compare their current procedures with the deficiencies and unresolved exceptions Lance finds in SBA loan files and guaranty purchase packages.
Lance will organize the discussion around the four areas where guaranty problems develop:
Eligibility. Underwriting. Closing. Servicing.
Participants will compare their current procedures with the problems Lance has identified in actual SBA loan files and guaranty purchase packages.
The Discussion Will Address:
- How to identify and correct guaranty risks before a loan reaches liquidation
- How to reconcile the approval, credit memo, closing documents, and loan file
- How to build internal file reviews around SBA requirements
- How to document eligibility and credit decisions for SBA review
- How to maintain closing and disbursement records that protect the guaranty
- How to document the analysis supporting servicing decisions
- How to prepare early-default loan files for increased SBA scrutiny
- What to resolve before submitting the Universal Purchase Package
- How an independent file review uncovers unresolved exceptions
