Stephanie Hockridge was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for her role in the Blueacorn PPP loan fraud scheme. Blueacorn collected over a billion dollars in fees by coaching and preparing fraudulent PPP applications, and Hockridge personally profited from every loan processed. While often portrayed as victimless, this fraud diverted funds from small businesses that desperately needed help during the pandemic.

The judge ordered her to report to the federal prison in Bryan on December 30 at 2 p.m. Although she lives in a luxury condo in Puerto Rico, the court said she lacked the resources to pay a fine. Instead, she was hit with a massive restitution order: $63,000,009. Once released, she must pay at least $1,000 a month or 10% of her income, plus 50% of any gifts, bonuses, inheritances, or other unexpected money she receives.

Hockridge was convicted in June 2025 of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Her husband, Nathan Reeis, also pleaded guilty in a related case and awaits sentencing. Their attorneys are asking the court to stagger their prison terms because they have an infant child, though it’s unclear whether the judge will agree.

After prison, Hockridge will face two years of strict supervision. She must live where probation approves, report all changes, allow unannounced visits, avoid felons, refrain from possessing weapons, and work at least 30 hours a week in a lawful job. A portion of her income will go toward the massive restitution, an obligation that will follow her for life.
