The Middlefield Banking Company Expands Commercial Banking Team with Josh Riley and Jerry Benko

The Middlefield Banking Company announced the hiring of Josh Riley as senior vice president and chief commercial market executive in central Ohio and Jerry Benko as senior vice president and chief commercial market executive in northeast Ohio. Riley and Beno will help expand and manage Middlefield’s commercial banking brand in their respective regions.

Riley has more than 21 years of financial services experience within the central Ohio market. Prior to joining Middlefield, Riley was a vice president at First Merchants Bank and was responsible for developing middle-market and small corporate banking relationships while also stewarding internal partnership collaboration initiatives in Ohio. Before joining First Merchants Bank, Riley held officer positions with investment, regional and community banks.

Benko has more than 21 years of banking experience within the northeast Ohio market. Benko is a commercial banker and former business owner. Most recently, he was the market manager and vice president at Huntington National Bank, where he managed a cross-functional team of business development officers, an SBA specialist and a portfolio manager. Prior to his six years at Huntington National Bank, Benko spent 15 years at PNC Bank in a variety of progressive banking roles.

AmeriServ Financial Bank Welcomes Douglas Parker as Area Executive and SVP of Commercial Banking

AmeriServ Bank recently announced Douglas Parker has joined the organization’s Hagerstown office as the new area executive and senior vice president of its commercial lending division. In his new position, Parker will be responsible for business development and commercial accounts and managing the commercial lending team in Hagerstown. He has 40 years of banking experience with more than 30 years of those in commercial lending and credit underwriting. 

David Schmidt Joins North State Bank as VP, SBA Business Development Officer

“David has a depth of knowledge and understanding that you can only get by working with business owners for decades,” shares Ferguson. “As seasoned lender, he’s hit the ground running and be an immediate resource for customers.”

In this role, Schmidt will work with companies to secure SBA financing to help start and grow their businesses. He started in the financial services industry three decades ago as a regional account manager at CIT Group. Later, he served as a business development officer at Evolve Bank and, most recently, as a business development officer at First Business Bank. A native of Seattle, Washington, Schmidt has lived in Redmond, Washington, for 16 years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Washington University and volunteers in his community through neighborhood improvement projects.
