Franchise Certification Extended to Dec 31
A couple of SBA housecleaning announcements.
For Franchise Brands that were listed on the SBA Franchise Directory as of May 2023, SBA has decided to extend the time for Re-Certification. A Franchisor/Distributor will now have until December 31, 2025, to execute the New SBA Franchisor/Distributor Certification.
During this period, if the Franchisor Certification box on the Franchise Directory does not contain a Y, the SBA Lender must continue to use the Addendum indicated on the Directory as well as comply with any notes included with the brand listing. Both the Franchisor/Distributor and the Franchisee must execute the addendum (if required) prior to loan disbursement. If a Franchisor/Distributor has not executed the Certification by December 31, 2025, the brand will be removed from the Directory.
