Kris Roglieri Will Remain Detained Until Trial, Reached a Settlement in His Civil Forfeiture Case – Fraud Friday
In November, Kris Roglieri made another attempt to be released from detention while waiting for his trial. He has been detained since May 2024 when he was arrested for five charges of wire fraud. The government accused him of stealing $5 million from a Minnesota egg farm that was trying to obtain funding for a $100 million commercial project.
The third detention hearing took place on November 25, but they failed to get the results that Roglieri and his team had aimed for. The court did not find Roglieri to be “a risk of flight, but [did] find him to continue to be a danger to the community.
In PACER, it states: “After arguments were heard during the renewed detention hearing on 11/25/2024, the Court finds that the Defendant remains a danger to the community for the reasons stated at the conclusion of the hearing. The Defendant shall remain detained in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending trial.”
The danger he poses to the community comes from threats he made against an FBI agent earlier in the investigation.
The Final Pretrial Conference is scheduled for May 13, 2025.
On the other side of his legal troubles, his attorneys managed to reach a settlement for his civil forfeiture case. Four of his luxury cars that the FBI seized last year will be sold to pay off some of his bills and benefit his creditors. These cars include:
- A 2020 Lamborghini Aventador
- A 2009 Mercedes Benz SL65
- A 2014 Mercedes Benz SLS
- A 2015 Ferrari 458
