Main Street Monday — Greater Nevada CU and West Town Bank & Trust Top USDA B&I Lending for 2016
Many of you know I am an unabashed fanboy for the Department of Agriculture business and industry lending program getting capital to Rural America’s Main Street.
This small business lending program is an excellent product niche, particularly for SBA lenders who understand the opportunities and traps of participating in government guaranteed lending programs.
I would encourage all of you to meet with your state directors (they control the initial loan application process) and determine how you can best utilize this great loan program for your rural-based small business customers.
Oh, the numbers.
Greater Nevada Credit Union approved 17 loans for $120 million last year.
West Town Bank and Trust (North Carolina approved the most loans last year, 18 for $62 million.
