Cary Crego Promoted to Head of Sales, Healthcare & SBA at Fifth Third Bank

Fifth Third Bank has promoted Cary Crego to Senior Vice President, Head of Sales, Healthcare & SBA, where he will lead the bank’s Healthcare and SBA sales strategy.

Crego joined Fifth Third Bank in 2021 as Director of Credit and Senior Industry Credit Lead following nearly 17 years with Bank of America, where he held several senior leadership positions in healthcare and SBA lending, including National Veterinary & Healthcare SBA Team Leader and Senior Vice President – Credit Products Manager.

In announcing the promotion on LinkedIn, Crego thanked Sean P. S. for five years of leadership and mentorship, as well as Chad Widensky and Andrew Bennett for their confidence in him as he assumes the new role.

Crego brings more than two decades of commercial banking, healthcare finance, and SBA lending experience to the position. In recent years, he has helped expand Fifth Third’s healthcare and SBA platform while actively recruiting business development talent and supporting entrepreneurs nationwide through specialized lending solutions.

Tom Kelley Joins Founders Bank as Director of SBA Lending

Tom Kelley has joined Founders Bank as Senior Vice President and Director of SBA Lending, bringing more than 25 years of SBA lending experience to the role.

Kelley joins Founders Bank after more than 11 years with TowneBank and Village Bank, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, SBA Business Lending Specialist. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at Village Bank as a commercial loan officer, following SBA lending and underwriting roles at Citizens and Farmers Bank (C&F Bank) and SunTrust Bank.

Kelley specializes in helping business owners achieve growth through SBA financing, drawing on more than two decades of experience in SBA business development, underwriting, commercial lending, and relationship management.
