Mountain West Small Business Finance Names Spencer Davis as CEO & Danny Mangum as President and COO

Mountain West Small Business Finance is pleased to announce its new executive leadership team. Effective immediately, Spencer Davis has been named chief executive officer, and Danny Mangum as president and chief operating officer of MWSBF. The change was ratified October 30, 2025, at the Q3 Mountain West Board Meeting, but anticipated since the succession planning announcement in July of 2024.
Davis and Mangum have over 12 years of combined leadership experience and 40 total years of seniority as MWSBF employees.

Davis was initially hired in 1996 as an administrative employee. He was later promoted to vp, loan officer in 2005 and then svp, senior lending officer in 2019.
Danny Mangum joined MWSBF in 2010 as a credit analyst and transitioned to vp, loan officer. He was promoted to chief operating officer in 2019.

As loan officers, Davis and Mangum had a prolific impact on small businesses. Together they represent more than 770 SBA 504 loan approvals equating to:
- $566,277,000 in debentures
- Over 19,000 jobs created and retained
Waterfall Bank Appoints J. Kevin Riffey as EVP, Director of Small Business Administration

Waterfall Bank has named J. Kevin Riffey as Executive Vice President, Director of Small Business Administration, where he will lead all aspects of the bank’s SBA 7(a) lending program.
Riffey brings a long track record of SBA leadership roles at Florida-based banks. From December 2020 to May 2024, he served as EVP / SBA Executive at Bank of Central Florida in Tampa, managing the bank’s SBA 7(a) platform. Before that, from October 2015 to December 2020, he was SVP / SBA Director at The Bank of Tampa, overseeing the bank’s SBA 7(a) and 504 lending activities from origination through closing, with a focus on the greater Tampa Bay market.
Most recently, Riffey has been working as as President / CEO of The SBA Shop in Tampa, providing SBA loan advisory and consulting services, with an emphasis on owner-occupied businesses.
Riffey holds a BS in Accounting from Jacksonville State University and an MBA from The University of Alabama.
