Tonya Mazurek Joins Community Bank & Trust as Senior Vice President, SBA BDO

Tonya Mazurek has joined Community Bank & Trust as Senior Vice President and SBA Business Development Officer. With more than 15 years of experience in finance and small business lending, she has built her career on helping entrepreneurs nationwide secure the funding they need to launch, grow, and succeed.

Specializing in SBA lending, Tonya is well known for navigating complex loan structures and finding creative solutions for borrowers who may have been turned away elsewhere. She has successfully closed financing for a wide range of industries, including special purpose commercial real estate, start-ups, and under-collateralized projects. She can now originate SBA 7(a) loans up to $5 million for clients nationwide!

Van Phan Appointed Vice President, SBA BDO at Sunwest Bank

Sunwest Bank has announced the addition of Van Phan as Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer, based in Irvine, California.

Van brings over two decades of banking experience with a strong focus on SBA 7(a) and 504 lending, commercial real estate, and business banking. Most recently, she served as VP, SBA and Business Banking Relationship Manager at Cathay Bank, where she originated over $44 million in SBA, CRE, and C&I loans across 2023 and 2024. Her career includes leadership and production roles at Chase, Citibank, City National Bank, and Bank of America, where she consistently exceeded performance goals and was recognized for her client service and portfolio growth.

In her new role at Sunwest, Van is focused on developing SBA business across the bank’s footprint, with a particular emphasis on Southern California. She brings a relationship-driven approach, leveraging a strong network of brokers and referral partners to deliver tailored financing solutions to small business clients.

Alfonso Castell De Oro Named VP, SBA BDO at Sunwest Bank

Sunwest Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Alfonso Castell De Oro as Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer, based in Irvine, California.

Alfonso brings over two decades of commercial banking experience, with a strong track record in SBA 7(a) and 504 lending, as well as CRE, ABL, and C&I financing. He has held senior roles at institutions including Legacy Bank, Citizens Business Bank, Opus Bank, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he consistently ranked as a top producer. His career highlights include originating over $34 million in SBA and commercial loans in a single year and helping launch a de novo commercial bank’s lending platform.

In his new role at Sunwest, Alfonso is focused on driving SBA loan growth across the bank’s footprint, with a particular emphasis on Southern California. He is actively cultivating relationships with business owners, brokers, and centers of influence to expand access to capital for small businesses. Alfonso’s bilingual fluency in Spanish and deep credit expertise make him a valuable asset to the team and the communities he serves.
