Zach Balmer Named Coleman SBA Business Development Officer of the Year

2025 was a year of growth and change for me. The biggest accomplishment I have for 2025 is joining the Lexicon Bank Team and helping launch our National SBA Team. This has been a rewarding experience to work with my Director, Tony Vahsholtz, to not only join the team as a producing SBA BDO, but to take on a leadership role with the BDO’s that we have brought in as a Sales Leader. Together, with our amazing team at Lexicon, we have launched and built a platform since September of 2025 that allows Lexicon to be well positioned going forward to help support small businesses in all 50 states. We were able to help deliver SBA loans Nationwide right out of the gate all while building out our team and processes. It was a remarkable achievement for all of us at Lexicon Bank and I couldn’t have done it without them.

In addition to the exciting things at Lexicon, I was able to work with a variety of businesses across the country with their financing needs. What I love about my role is being able to help in all aspects of a business cycle. Start up, expansion, real estate purchase or business acquisition. I also enjoy being a resource for SBA lending. Being able to educate borrowers and also help my peers year in and year out is one of the things I love most about my role and accomplishments. But also, being a generalist lender it is exciting to work on all kinds of deals that have had economic impacts all across the country. Knowing that I had a small role in the overall SBA production last year has been rewarding. As I look back on the number of deals that I did last year and the volume of lending that I did, it is humbling to see all of that hard work paying off for so many borrowers across the country that are living their dream of small business ownership. That is truly what drives me every year to do SBA Lending.
