WSFS Bank Names Steven Cunningham SVP, Director of SBA Sales

“Steven is a skilled SBA commercial manager and lender with an extensive background and breadth of knowledge of SBA programs, business banking, commercial real estate, and more,” says Candice Caruso, SVP, Chief Retail Lending Officer. “His experience developing and implementing competitive sales programs, partnerships and services across banking functions will be a great asset to WSFS as we continue to grow our SBA and franchise services.”

In his new role, Cunningham will be responsible for the strategy, profitability and growth of the SBA Sales team, which originates loans with SBA and other government guarantors, as well as expanding the national franchise strategy and providing best-in-class Customer experiences.

Most recently, Cunningham served as Senior Vice President, Director of SBA and Government Lending at Primis Bank, where he managed the SBA department, including SBA production, operations, documentation, closing, and construction units. He has nearly 30 years of banking and financial services experience, and previously worked at TD Bank, Metro Bank and Wachovia, among others.

“I am excited to join an established group that has been a top three SBA lending team in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, as well as a top 60 ranked lender nationwide for SBA 7(a) loans,” says Cunningham. “I look forward to collaborating with the team as we continue to grow WSFS’ SBA and franchise lending portfolio while ensuring Customers receive top-tier service.”

American Momentum Bank Welcomes Tim Collins as VP, Nationwide SBA BDO

“Tim has a 30-plus-year track record of success in SBA lending and has proven himself to be a committed advocate for his small business clients, especially those who have served in our military,” Patrick Fenech, SVP, Managing Director of SBA Lending, says. “We knew that he would be a great fit for American Momentum, not only from a production standpoint, but also culturally.”

Collins has served in management roles with SBA lenders, serving as an SBA sales manager and SBA lending manager. He has worked for bank and non-bank lenders, always performing in those firms’ top 20% of SBA loan producers. During his career, he has funded over $290 million in SBA loans. The SBA recognized Collins as The Financial Services Champion of the Year in Arizona in 2011, Arizona Veterans Champion of the Year in 2014 (as a member of the Boots to Business team in Arizona) and Arizona Veterans Champion of the Year in 2017.

In his new role with American Momentum, Collins will be responsible for sourcing well-qualified SBA 7(a) loan opportunities. He will focus on building relationships with business owners, as well as referral sources, such as business brokers, loan brokers, commercial bankers, CPAs, attorneys and commercial real estate professionals. Collins will serve clients nationally, focusing on Phoenix and the Western United States region.

“I’ve always enjoyed being a consultant to small business owners in their attempts to get SBA financing,” Collins says. “I think this new role at American Momentum will be a perfect fit because we’re on the same page regarding making deals work for small business owners who need and deserve the support.”
