Kurt Chilcott Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award For Small Business Economic Development

Kurt Chilcott, President and CEO of CDC Small Business Finance, the nation’s largest 504 lender, was awarded the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Economic Development in Honor of Edward deLuca by the International Economic Development Council, for a lasting commitment to the field of economic development.

“The Lifetime Achievement Award is given by IEDC to an active or former member who is progressing the profession of economic development as a teacher or has motivated others in many communities,” said Paul Krutko, IEDC chair. “Mr. Chilcott has been dedicated to our industry and has, indisputably, earned this distinction.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Economic Development is given in honor of Edward deLuca, in recognition of a lifelong commitment to excellence in economic development.

Gonzalo Fernandez Joins Ventura County SBDC

Gonzalo Fernandez, owner of small business financing advisory firm GBF Consulting, has joined the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County’s SBDC as an advisor. Fernandez will assist Small Business Development Center clients in the areas of analyzing and securing business loans, and strategic planning. Fernandez joins the approximately 30 advisors offering Ventura County companies no-cost general and specialized business assistance, including manufacturing, international trade, and government contracting and procurement.

“Gonzalo is an experienced banker with a proven track record of developing and growing SBA lending programs throughout California,” said Ray Bowman, SBDC director. “His financial expertise is invaluable for our SBDC clients looking to access capital to grow their existing businesses or to start a new one.”
