Vahsholtz to Head New SBA Department at Bank of Idaho

“SBA lending has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve been doing it since 1998,” says Tony Vahsholtz, head of the new SBA lending department at Bank of Idaho. “Judging by current trends, I really think you’ll see a lot of SBA lending done over the next two years. We want to be regarded as the experts in this market.”

Bank President and CEO, Jeff Newgard, says adding a specialized department was a boots-on-the-ground decision made after booking more than 1,000 PPP loans in a matter of weeks.  “Our loan officers along with our small-business customers are really finding that the SBA is tailoring programs to provide a lifeline that’s not available anywhere else,” says Newgard. “So it only makes sense to get that help to the small-business community as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

Angela M. Machado Joins First Bank of the Lake

“First Bank of the Lake is experiencing unprecedented growth,” says Angela M. Machado. ” I’m honored and excited to be part of this dynamic company and to help contribute to its continuing success. I’m eager to apply my SBA knowledge with meaningful lending solutions for businesses.”

“Angela brings wide-ranging experience which is of tremendous value to the Bank and its customers,” says Annemarie Murphy, President of SBA Lending at First Bank of the Lake. “Bringing on board yet another valuable SBA Lending perspective to the team is just what we were looking for. With her ability to mix prior knowledge with a proven track record is just what we need to continue to grow the bank’s SBA Lending portfolio. We’re excited to have her join our team.”

Machado earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science with a minor in Credit and Finance from Cal Poly, San Lois Obispo and now has over 20 years of SBA and USDA lending experience. At First Bank of the Lake, she will apply her years of experience to her new role as Vice President, Government Guaranteed Lending Commercial Real Estate Business Development Officer.

Melissa Butler Joins State Bank of Texas

“We are pleased to have Melissa join our leadership team,” says Sushil Patel, President of State Bank of Texas. “As we continue to grow our core business of lending in the hospitality industry, her experience with nationwide lending in this industry will further strengthen our footprint across the country.”

A native of California, Melissa Butler now lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. She has over 20 years of experience as a senior lender and business development professional, most recently with PMC Commercial Trust where she developed extensive expertise with SBA 7(a) and SBA 504 loans concentrated in the hospitality sector. Butler’s expertise will allow State Bank of Texas to expand its SBA loan offerings to reach a broader customer base.

In addition, Butler has cultivated a nationwide pipeline in the hospitality industry that can be served with a full array of conventional loans offered by State Bank of Texas.
