C-Suite Wednesday – Updated SBA 7(a) Lender Oversight Fees for Fiscal Year 2022
Effective March 3, 2021, the SBA released a notice informing 7(a) lenders and SBA employees of the Office of Credit Risk Management’s (OCRM) update on 7(a) lender oversight fees and the fiscal year 2022 fee schedule.
•For SBA Supervised Lenders, the annual fee for monitoring and other lender oversight activities will be $161.16 for every $1 million in outstanding 7(a) guaranteed dollars.
•7(a) lenders that are federally regulated will pay $166.39 for every $1 million in outstanding 7(a) guaranteed dollars. The fee is slightly higher due to costs related to oversight tools that do not apply to SBA supervised lenders.
•Delegated Authority lenders will have an additional fee of $13.11 for every $1 million in outstanding 7(a) guaranteed dollars because of Delegated Authority Reviews.
These fees do not apply to any PPP loans, and the SBA will provide further notices should they decide to charge a fee for PPP oversight.
Each 7(a) lender will receive a bill for the amount owed on an annual basis.
