Summit Bank Welcomes Aaron Walker as Chief Credit Officer

“Aaron’s wealth of knowledge regarding the markets in which we operate and the types of loans and structures with which he is familiar will be extremely beneficial to Summit. Toward that end, he is a Chief Credit Officer with significant client-facing experience, which is also important to our culture,” says Craig Wanichek, President and CEO of Summit Bank.

Walker has nearly 30 years of experience in banking with a balanced mix of senior management positions in Commercial Real Estate and Commercial and Industrial Lending. Most recently, Walker was the manager of Commercial Real Estate lending for Columbia Bank, responsible for growing and managing a $1.2 billion portfolio of income property loans. Before that, Walker managed C & I teams throughout Oregon for Umpqua Bank with total assets of approximately $1.5 billion. He also has held credit management positions involving loan approval, problem loan management, and overall portfolio monitoring including stress testing.

Matt Goers Promoted to SVP, SBA Veterans Sales Manager at First Bank of the Lake

“In his role, Matt will manage a team, most comprised of veterans, with the intent to help provide financing to the underserved and those who have served our country. We are so proud of Matt, his team and this program,” says Annemarie Murphy, EVP, President of SBA Lending.

Goers joined First Bank of the Lake’s SBA team in November 2019 as the Senior Vice President, SBA Chief Credit Officer and promoted to Senior Vice President, SBA Veterans Sales Manager in January 2022. He is a service-disabled Marine Corps combat veteran with 10 years of small business lending experience. Goers’ lending background includes loan closings, underwriting, credit administration and sales.

“As a service-disabled Marine Corps combat veteran, I understand the sacrifices veterans have made for our country,” states Goers. “Having an operations background that includes loan closing, and underwriting, I understand what we can get done and how. I utilize a creative and consultative approach to help determine the best financing for my clients.”

Mary Soldano Joins Fund-Ex Solutions Group as a Business Development Officer

“We set out to find a rock star BDO with a passion for helping small business owners, and boy did we find her,” says Ray Drew, Managing Business Development Officer for Fund-Ex Solutions Group. “Mary is truly one of a kind, and we are excited to watch her flourish as a national lender here at Fund-Ex Solutions Group.”

Mary has worked with entrepreneurs and small business owners since the beginning of her career, with an emphasis on providing access to capital. She worked internationally and then transitioned to work with small businesses in the Greater Philadelphia area through the SBA Microlending and SBA Community Advantage lending programs at a Philadelphia-based CDFI. Before joining Fund-Ex Solutions Group, Mary assisted in relaunching an SBA 7(a) program at a small community bank. She focused primarily on SBA 7(a) lending funding, mostly owner-occupied commercial real estate, business acquisitions and debt refinance transactions for small businesses.

“The more I learn about Fund-Ex Solutions Group and meet with the team here, the more I realize how much this group embodies the spirit of the SBA program,” says Soldano. “I am honored to be a part of the team, excited to grow and meet the capital needs of small businesses across the U.S.”
