Thomas “Hunter” Deweese to Serve as SBA President for Southern Bancorp

“We are excited to have Hunter serve in this new role, and we look forward to the economic impact the SBA lending team will have on small businesses and communities under his leadership,” says Southern Bancorp, Inc. CEO, Darrin Williams.

Thomas Deweese succeeds Randy Ratcliff as the head of Southern Bancorp’s SBA team. Ratcliff led the SBA team since 2017 and, as of January 1, 2021, has shifted to an advisory role.

Deweese joined Southern Bancorp’s Arkansas team in 2017, where he has focused on developing the bank’s SBA poultry loan program. Deweese is a Fayetteville native and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2005. 

Micah Adams Joins Summit Bank in Oregon as a Business Client Advisor

A native Oregonian, Adams has a tenured career in banking, serving most recently as a Senior Business Banking Lender at Wells Fargo Bank.  A large portion of his career has been spent managing relationships at regional banks, where he has risen through the ranks from Banking Officer to Senior Relationship Manager. At Summit, Adams will focus on helping small and medium-sized businesses meet their financial goals.

In addition to banking, Adams enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community.  He is the longtime Chair of the Board of Directors of the Springfield Education Foundation.  He is the former Sponsorship Chair for the Eugene Active 20-30 Club and has served as a guest mentor for SCORE and as an instructor at the University of Oregon for the School of Business. 

Geoffrey McGivern Joins TMC Financing to Expand SBA 504 Lending to Small Business Owners in Arizona

“We are delighted to expand into the Arizona market and Geoff is the ideal person to spearhead this initiative,” says Barbara Morrison, founder and president of TMC Financing. “Geoff will lead the way as TMC partners with lenders and small business owners in Arizona.”

Geoffrey McGivern joins TMC Financing as senior vice president of business development. In his role, he will focus on helping small business owners looking to purchase, construct, or refinance commercial real estate with the SBA 504 loan program. McGivern has spent more than 20 years as an SBA 504 lender and has successfully originated over $1,100,000,000 in SBA 504 projects.
