Plumas Bank Announces John Hays as SVP, Regional Ag Business Lending Officer

Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer, BJ North, remarks, “John is a proven leader in the ag industry and a trusted advisor to farmers, ranchers, and supporting businesses. His expertise in agricultural lending, commercial business development, and portfolio management will serve our ag communities and businesses well as we expand our community bank franchise. John is a key addition to the Plumas Bank ag/commercial lending team, and we welcome him to Plumas Bank.”

Hays brings 16 years of experience to his new role and is responsible for building relationships with area ranchers, farmers, and businesses supporting the agriculture industry throughout Nevada, California, and Oregon. His most recent position was vice president ag relationship manager at Nevada State Bank in Nevada.

Hays comments, “As a fifth-generation cattle rancher and owning and operating my own cattle operation for several years, I understand the cyclical needs of the industry. Helping ranchers and farmers is my passion and I’m excited to join a community bank that shares my passion. Plumas Bank has a reputation for strongly supporting the ag industry and I look forward to growing and serving its clientele.”

Jesus Zavala Joins First American Bank’s SBA Lending Team as SBA Assistant Program Manager

“We are thrilled to have Jesus as part of our team, to help us grow and improve our compliance process. He has both the customer and compliance focus we need in order to grow and improve our program,” says SBA Program Manager, Alan Lane-Murcia.

Jesus comes to First American Bank directly from the SBA where he spent the pandemic working on EIDL loans. Jesus also has 15 years of experience in banking in branch management and lending. His responsibilities in his new role include ensuring SBA compliance in origination and documentation, working with relationship managers, its legal department, and operations. He will also focus on growing small SBA loan origination through the branch network.
