Joseph Vereline Joins Union Savings Bank as VP, Head of Business Banking

“Joe has extensive experience with small business lending and is a welcomed addition to our Business Banking team,” says Marlene Piche, Senior Vice President of branch and business banking.

Vereline will develop, manage and oversee all aspects of business banking, including lending, deposit services and cross-selling activities. He will also collaborate with the USB team on new business development with a particular focus on several key business banking products designed to enhance and streamline the banking experience for small businesses.

Having worked at several leading national banks as well as a local credit union, Vereline brings more than 12 years of experience to USB. Most recently he was a business banker at Affinity Federal Credit Union in Norwalk. Prior to that, he was a vice president, small business banker at Bank of America, New Canaan.

First Bank Welcomes Brad Cantrell to SBA Team as VP, BDO

Brad Cantrell, a 20-year banking veteran, has joined the First Bank SBA team focusing on the upstate South Carolina market and Western North Carolina. Cantrell will work with small businesses to help access capital for acquisition, growth, and other needs through SBA-guaranteed lending.

Cantrell joins the team with years of executive level credit experience and most recently as an SBA Development Officer with Countybank based in Greenwood, SC. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Francis Marion University, Cantrell attended Clemson University, receiving his Masters in Applied Economics. He began his banking career and later graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking through the American Bankers Association and also the South Carolina Bankers School through the South Carolina Bankers Association.

When asked about the switch to the First Bank SBA team, Cantrell responds, “I am very excited to join a strong service culture like First Bank and for the opportunity to become a part of a well-established, growing bank, particularly in the upstate. I really want to see businesses grow in the South Carolina market and am excited for First Bank’s growth here too.”
