Janet Toth Joins Snohomish County SBDC

“We are thrilled that Janet has joined the SBDC staff and has already hit the ground running here in Edmonds with twice-monthly local office hours directly serving local small business owners,” says Edmonds Economic Development Director Patrick Doherty. “SBDC services are free of charge, yet are invaluable in terms of the insight, assistance and coaching provided.”

While working in finance and economic development in Eastern Maine, Toth often referred clients to the Maine SBDC for business counseling. Now, she said, she is happy to be an SBDC advisor herself.

“The SBDC has such deep pockets of knowledge and experience,” she says. “It’s not just me out there working with a client, I have a whole team behind me and I like that very much.”

Janey says she is looking forward to working proactively with clients to help them meet their goals, and then celebrating their successes. “I enjoy helping people take ownership of their dreams.”

Janet has more than 28 years of experience in finance, economic development and business consulting, and was an SBA advisory council member for four years. She earned an undergraduate degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Maine.
She and her husband, Gary, moved from Maine to Washington in 2017 to be close to their infant granddaughter. Other members of the family have since joined them. “We love it here,” she says. “In Snohomish County, everything you want or need is within five or six miles. The abundance and diversity of small businesses that are here is amazing.”
