A church deacon, jaycee and Junior Achievement volunteer is set to plead guilty June 4th for ripping off BB&T some $300,000.
The usual, boring way. Make some fake loans to your customers and deposit the proceeds into the joint account with your wife.
The scheme unraveled when a customer received a bogus loan statement. Assured by the soon-to-be-felon that there was simply an error and the statements would be corrected the next month. Our sloppy banker never followed up and the customer received five straight months of fraudulent loan statements.
