Session #2 Ethics, Prohibited Fees & Agents
February 27, 2025, Thursday 2 pm Eastern

Common errors in loan packaging often involve fees charged to applicants, including legal fees, and the proper completion of SBA Form 159 as required by the SBA.

Session #3 Core Requirements for 7(a) Loans
March 6, 2025, Thursday 2 pm Eastern

This session examines Chapter Five of SOP 50 10 7.1, focusing on three main areas:

  1. The requirements for guarantors, including a discussion of review questions and common errors
  2. The process of obtaining and verifying tax transcripts and financial information
  3. The SBA’s insurance requirements

Session #4 Standard 7(a) Specific Requirements
March 18, 2025, Tuesday 2 pm Eastern

The reviewers will also explore common mistakes made by lenders when determining if a loan is fully collateralized and if additional collateral is required. They will address important questions and findings regarding when debt to be refinanced is eligible for an SBA loan. Additionally, they will cover the “must” requirements for credit memo analysis and much more.

Session #5 E-Tran Terms and Conditions thru Disbursement
March 27, 2025, Thursday 2 pm Eastern

Questions and errors related to E-Tran, which governs the terms and conditions authorized by the SBA, are addressed. Topics covered include errors in loan closing procedures, lien perfection, prudent documentation for the use of loan proceeds, and many other relevant issues.

William Gossett

Leveraging over 30 years’ experience, William specializes in providing Small Business Administration (SBA) PARRiS reviews, risk-based reviews, and safety and soundness exams for lending institutions nationwide. Early in his career, Bill served as an examiner for the FDIC performing lossshare reviews. In addition, he served as a past chairman on the SBA District Advisory Committee. Prior to Doeren Mayhew, Bill performed loan review engagements through Garcia & Ortiz for the SBA, which later merged into Doeren Mayhew.

Today, he applies his expertise to focus on assessing primary lender functions, such as asset quality, SBA management and governance, regulatory compliance and credit administration practices. In addition, Bill
has performed over 100 PARRiS reviews.
