Hot Topic Tuesday — SBA Clarifies Environmental Report Approvals for GP loans
The SBA procedural notice issued last week only applies to loans processed GP through the loan guarantee processing center in Citrus Heights.
If an environmental investigation report concludes that a property has no contamination, it is the lender’s responsibility to certify that the property complies with SBA requirements in E-Tran.
If the property reveals contamination, documentation must be uploaded to the SBA using E-Tran.
Also, an email must then be sent to environmental.reviews@sba.com without the environmental reports attached.
Once the environmental submission is approved, the lender must notify the Citrus Heights center of the decision. The new SOP changes are attached to the notice.
