That is the mantra of today’s agency says SBA Associate Administrator Ann Marie Mehlum.
Speaking at the Georgia Lender’s Conference in Augusta last week Ann says, “We have a fairly new administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet. She’s a community banker from California and she absolutely understands the challenges of small lenders.
“She’s highly committed to the success of the industry of small business lending.
“She’s renamed the SBA from Small Business Administration to Smart, Bold, and Assessable — and she is pushing us every day to be smart, bold, and accessible.
“While we are all dealing with the bureaucracy of the federal government, these are pretty exciting times at the SBA.
“There’s a lot going on.
“We are absolutely clear that for the SBA to do anything successful means that we have to make our programs work for all of you — so that you can be successful and our borrowers can attain the capital they need.”
