SBA Inspector General is Requesting $67.4 Million for its Total 2025 Budget

$47.02 million will be used for direct discretionary funding, and $20.38 million will be transferred from the SBA Disaster Loan Program.

The Inspector General is requesting to transfer $16.674 from the SBA Disaster Loan Program account to support ongoing oversight of SBA’s COVID EIDL portfolio. The funds are necessary to continue combatting fraud in SBA’s pandemic response and to expand its existing oversight capacity.

They are asking for another transfer of $3.706 million from SBA’s Indirect Disaster Assistance Program account for a necessary increase of $2.106 million from the FY 2024 level. The funds will support two audit teams that provide oversight of SBA’s EIDL program.

The budget requests $1.8 million to support and improve the OIG’s IT security. Another $1.2 million will be utilized for costs associated with the 2025 pay increase for its personnel.
