SBA Releases Fiscal Year 2023 Agency Financial Report

The annual Agency Financial Report gives an overview of SBA’s financial and performance data. It is one of two required reports that federal agencies must publish each year. The report is filled with data and trends that the SBA is seeing.

During FY23, SBA’s portfolio decreased year over year by 13.9%. The main cause for the decline was the reduction in the disaster loan portfolio and the PPP loan portfolio. SBA’s 7(a) and 504 loan portfolios increased by 3.1% and 9.7% respectively.

Compared to FY21 and FY22, the 7(a) and 504 loan volume declined during fiscal year 2023, but FY23’s quarterly average loan volume remains above FY18, FY19, and FY20.
